Effects of polyvinylpyrrolidone and poly (ethylene glycol) on preparation of ibuprofen pharmaceutical cocrystal

چکیده

In this study, we investigated the effects of polymers on pharmaceutical cocrystal formation process. Ibuprofen (IBU) was selected as active ingredient (API), nicotinamide (NIC) and saccharin (SAC) coformer (CCF), ethanol/water solvent, polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) poly (ethylene glycol) (PEG) representative polymers. We prepared IBU-NIC IBU-SAC cocrystals in ethanol-water cosolvent absence or presence Cocrystal screening products were characterized by FTIR, DSC, PXRD, HPLC. The results showed that mixture IBU can be without addition PVP facilitates pure cocrystal; however, no formed PEG solutions. SAC could not cocrystallize with solvent Neither nor facilitate cocrystal.
